Your production buildings should have a production rate of at least 130 supplies per hour (that's as much as a Fruit Farm produces), and you should have at least three of them. If your entire supply income comes from one Pottery and one Hunter's Cabin, you could end up waiting weeks on end just to research one technology. This is because technologies are demanding up to 2500 supplies to unlock, and goods buildings require 200 supplies to produce each time. Stone Age and Bronze Age Production Buildings have absolutely no place in an Iron Age town, with the exception of a Fruit Farm.
This is so you can get the highest population possible in minimal space.
Instead of building Roof Tile Houses in unoccupied space, I highly recommend you replace your existing Bronze Age houses. This is because you get a total of seven reward expansions from conquering provinces or researching technologies. If you had no problems with space in the Bronze Age, you will most certainly have issues here.
